Basement Development

Dear Devotees & Friends,

It is my pleasure to inform you that we are on the way to develop our basement. Our goal is two-fold; first, to have more activities for friends like you in the one side of the basement. There, from May 2014, we will start with Yoga, Meditation & Sanskrit Classes and later we will have a school to spread the rich Indian Culture through classical music, dance, painting and the like. The hall, with capacity to hold 150-200 people, will be utilized as an auditorium as well.

We need donations to develop and furnish this hall with lights, chairs, podium and the like. Please come forward and donate whatever you can for this noble cause.

On the other side of the basement we are going to build five rooms for guests. Many people want to spend a few days in the Ashrama environment in a contemplative mood. But because of our limited capacity right now we are unable to accommodate more than two devotees at a time. Once these rooms are finished we will be able to accommodate 10 people at a time in our guest rooms!

My appeal is to you to sponsor at least one room for $25,000! If you want, the sponsor’s name or name of the sponsor’s choosing will be written by the respective room.

Please note that all donations to the Vivekananda Vedanta Society of Chicago are tax exempted.
